Viral claim in PTI fact check turned out to be fake. Investigation revealed that the video was surrendered by Ukrainian Marine in Mariyupol in 2022 and has no relation with the current struggle in the Kursk region.
Claim:
On social media platform X, a user shared the viral video on 11 March 2025 and wrote in English, “Reports are surrendering in huge numbers in the kursk region. Deep state proxy war is ended. “

PTI fact The Czech Desk searched the reverse image of the video’s ‘Ke-Frames’ to check the truth of the viral claim. During this time, we found some part of the viral video on a YouTube channel named ‘Serge Antoine’. This video was published on YouTube on 7 April 2022.
