Hyundai Motor India has reported that the SUV has taken 68.5 percent of the domestic sales of HMIL for FY 2014-25, increasing by 63.2 percent in the previous financial year. Domestic sales in Hyundai were among 598,666 units and in FY14 saw a dip of 2.61 percent from 614,721 units.
This shows that there was an SUV for each of the three cars sold by the automaker in the nation. The full -time director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, Tarun Garg said that the reason for two of every third car sold by the company in India is an SUV, a reflection of comprehensive knowledge of Indian customers and focuses on innovation, security and style offering. The company’s current SUV portfolio includes Hyundai Buyer, Site, Exterited, Alakzar, Tuxon and Ionic 5.

Interestingly, the company said that 52.3 percent of the total domestic vehicles sold during the financial year were vehicles equipped with sunroof. Currently, the sunroof is available on 12 out of 14 models in the HMIL range. In addition, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) variant contributed to 6.7 percent to 14.3 percent in FY2023-25 in FY2024-25.
Hmil provides Adas in its nine models. Garg further stated that an increase in the ADAS version and an increase in preference for sunroof variants indicate our customers’ increasing aspirations and their desire to accept global technologies.
Hyundai Motor India: FY25 Sales
Hyundai Motor India posted its FY2025 sales, and Auto Major sold a total accumulated total (domestic + export) of 762,052 units, falling 2.03 percent on the year. The automaker retained 7,77,876 units in FY2023. However, Hyundai still manages to be India’s second largest automaker, although a huge margin from market leader Maruti Suzuki, who retailed 22,34,266 units in FY 2015.

Exports were being exported to 163,386 units in the last financial year. However, Hyundai ended the year in a good spirit as March 2025 sales were encouraged with 67,320 units (domestic exports), with 65,601 units sold in the same month last year recorded an increase of 2.62 percent.
