After the success of Strey 2, fans are eagerly awaited for the fifth installment in Madock’s horror-comedy universe, Thamma. The much awaited trailer finally fell today (26 September). However, the Internet is echoing with disappointment, calling the trailer “weak”.
The trailer showed Arshman Khurrana jumping from one building to another, turning into a vampires while struggling to balance his ambitions and to love life. He is engaged in a battle with a one thousand -year -old vampires played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, while working with his father, depicted by Paresh Rawal, who believes that his son is “sita” after seeing his vampire teeth. Fans who were thrilled with the teaser now appear to be disappointed, as their hopes are shattered.
Internet criticizes Thama trailer
A Reddit user shared the trailer on the platform, where fans expressed their disappointment. Read in a comment: “Sere jokes from Instagram Reels (they have chosen all jokes from Instagram Reels).” Another wrote: “It was quite low, NGL. Humor and settings feel similar to every other Madock film. When he first made this announcement, I was expecting Ayushman to play the role of Dracula. I can imagine him as a Cranky Dracula that arises after a long sleep and tries to fit in the modern world.”
Other reactions include: “jokes feel repetitive … a seen feeling, not fresh.” Another fan said: “Family comedy of the same middle class again. I really thought that there would be an emotional love story … but 90% craing.” Read in another comment: “The same lame jokes.”
Many internet users also criticized manufacturers for reusing the same template as other Madock films. One commented: “Why did he copy the Bhhiya template? They could try to do something different.” Another wrote: “The trailer is not absolutely exciting.” Someone else said: “I did not smile even once.”
However, what actually attracts everyone’s attention was in the form of a powerful cameo of Varun Dhawan. A fan shared a screenplay on X and wrote: “Wohhhhh, what a upgrade! #Varundhawan #Bhediya #thamatrailer.” Another couple: “Varun Dhawan as Warewolf – can’t wait for the discipline vs. vampire.” A third fan commented: “Varun Dhawan as Warewolf !!”
