Damoh. The courtyard of the house seems incomplete without a woman. Mother, sister, daughters play an important role in our lives. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we are going to introduce you to one such old lady, who on one hand took care of her children and family at every stage of her life, while on the other hand, Usha, who was fascinated by the environment, never took care of the flower beds in the garden. Did not let it dry.
Usha Srivastava completed her primary education from Middle School in Maharajpur and Higher Secondary School in Mandla. There were a total of 7 people in his family including 6 sisters and one brother. The youngest of whom was Usha. Whose father Rameshwar Prasad Srivastava was awarded the National Award by the Education Department. Since then, the elder brother wanted that his sister Usha, who was interested in studies, should also become a teacher. It was the year 1960, when elder brother Shyam Sundar was posted as steno in Damoh SP office. Since then, proposals for marriage of Usha started coming and in the same year, she tied the knot with Badri Prasad ji, posted in a government school in Jhagar Bardhari village. Meanwhile, he continued his further studies. The husband wanted Usha to do a government job. Due to which he made Usha from Sagar district undergo BTE training course for one year and on 6 December 1966, Usha Srivastava was appointed as a teacher in Jabera Government Girls School, Damoh in the Education Department. In 2004, Usha retired from the government school of Damoh. Meanwhile, along with 38 years of government services, Usha first took care of the family and then the environment.
After retirement, Usha started spending time in flower garden.
During a special conversation with Local 18, elderly woman Usha Srivastava shed light on the ups and downs in her life and said that after retiring in 2004, she has been working day and night to improve the environment for almost 20 years. Usha Srivastava is now 82 years old. Who has nurtured her children as well as the flowers in her garden by watering them with motherly love. From watering the plants in the garden from 5 am in the morning, to weeding and teaching environmental protection lessons to every person while going for a walk, this old lady has become the basis of her life.
