Deoria This is the only octagonal temple in Purvanchal which is a symbol of the legacy of 300 years and the faith of seven generations. This historical octagonal temple is a wonderful example of religious, cultural and social consciousness of Purvanchal. This is now not only a place of worship, but has become a unique example of social harmony and traditional architecture. This temple, which contains history of about 300 years old, is a symbol of faith and unity of dozens of villages. According to beliefs, about seven generations ago, a devotee installed the statue of Shri Satyanarayana Lord in a pallet hut. Later, this place became the center of collective reverence of villages. The religious dignity of this site continued to grow continuously until the form of tile from the hut, then a pucca house and eventually the domed grand temple.
Unmatched in architecture
This temple was built in about 10 years. Its Vastu scheme was prepared by a traditional craftsman from the Dalit community, which was a bold and egalitarian step in the social structure of that time. The temple is made up of special types of thin bricks made of rich and lime, which makes it distinct from the architectural point of view. According to this Siddharth Mani Temple Committee, it is not just a place of worship, but is a symbol of our cultural and social roots. Its architecture and construction journey is a historical document.
Cultural consciousness center
According to former head Anil Mani, this temple of Deoria connects people. After rising above caste and religion, all are partners in it, this is its real strength. Rural Dinesh Mani said that we have heard from our elders and have seen how this temple stood with brick, lime and reverence. Here the day of Annakoot makes the entire village united. Every year a grand event of ‘Annakoot Mahotsav’ is held here, in which hundreds of dishes are made and offered to God. Later it is distributed among the devotees in the form of Prasad. This event has become a celebration of not only religious, but a spirit of social harmony and cooperation. This octagonal temple covered with the tradition of 300 years, social harmony and unique architecture is today the center of cultural consciousness of Purvanchal.
