However, its cultivation is spreading rapidly in other states also. Experts believe that if cumin is cultivated properly then lakhs can be easily earned from it. At present, mainly cumin varieties like RZ-19, GC-1, RZ 209 are cultivated in India.

Understand the earning figures
If we understand the earning figures then if you cultivate about 27 quintals of cumin and if you sell it at the rate of about Rs 32,000 per quintal. So in this way you can earn up to Rs 8.65 lakh by selling 27 quintals. Such prices are available in the market. Its cultivation costs Rs 30 to 35 thousand per acre. At the same time, in cumin cultivation, on an average 7 to 8 quintals of seeds are available in one acre. In such a situation the profit is higher.
What kind of climate do you want?
Cumin crop does not grow well in humid and heavy rainfall. It thrives well in moderately dry and cool climates and subtropical climates are considered ideal for it. Talking about soil, for cumin cultivation, loamy soil is required which has good drainage system along with organic matter. If you are planning for commercial farming then select such fields in which cumin has not been cultivated for at least the last 3 to 4 years. The months from November to December are considered most suitable for the cultivation of cumin.
