The ninth generation Toyota Camry sedan is scheduled to be launched in India on December 11, with a completely different design and new features.
Toyota Camry is one of the best selling hybrid sedans in the world and despite the increasing popularity and demand of SUVs and crossovers, Camry still has its own charm. The ninth generation model of the sedan is currently available in the international market, but not in India. However, Toyota is all set to launch the new generation Camry sedan in the Indian market on December 11. When launched, the new Camry will mark 11 years of business for this nomenclature in the Indian market since the first presentation of the car.
Ninth generation Toyota Camry: what’s new
The design language of the ninth generation Toyota Camry is completely different from the model that is currently on sale in India. The new Camry features a wider radiator grille and sharper headlamps than the outgoing model, while the rear profile comes with design influences from Lexus. The headlamps come with integrated LED daytime running lights.
While the exterior of the sedan looks completely different, the interior also comes with some significant updates. The interior features a dual-digital display, while the center console has been revised compared to the current version. The Camry comes with features like individual climate zones for rear occupants, seat back screens, Type-C USB charging port, curtains and a premium JBL audio system. Furthermore, the interior of the new Camry offers ample space and comfort thanks to the car’s massive wheelbase.

Powering the ninth-generation Toyota Camry sedan is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with an eCVT. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 222 bhp. Power is transmitted to the front wheels. The international market-spec Toyota Camry sedan is also available with a FWD version, but it is unlikely to be offered in the Indian market. It is expected that the upcoming Toyota Camry will give better mileage than the current model’s 19 kilometers per liter.
