St. George’s Girls Grammar School is one of the oldest and prestigious girls’ schools in Hyderabad. It was established in 1834 and has the distinction of being the first English medium school in Hyderabad. It is believed that formal English education in Hyderabad also started from this institute.

The school was originally established by the Church of England to cater to the educational needs of the children of British government employees working in Hyderabad. After the independence of the country, the management of the school was handed over to the Church of South India. The school campus has a rich library, modern science laboratories, airy classrooms and a spacious playground with facilities like basketball and long courts.
