The school management said on Tuesday that a large number of students were affected by dengue reports “baseless allegations”.
A private school in Thane city of Maharashtra has temporarily shifted to online mode of classes after complaints of suspicious cases of mosquito -borne diseases among many students and teachers.
The school management said on Tuesday that a large number of students were reported to be affected by dengue, “baseless allegations with vested interests”.
It said that no evidence of mosquito reproduction was found in the campus under the health inspection of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
This school has been transferred from 18 to 28 June to the students of nursery to online mode for students in class 10.
A school management representative said, “As a precautionary remedy, we have made pomp and install mosquito nets on all windows in the school premises.”
TMC Health Medical Officer Dr. Prasad Patil said that a civilian team was sent to school on Monday after complaints from parents.
He said that while active breeding was not seen, the capacity was existing for it.
Patil said, “We identified and destroyed many potential mosquito breeding sites, such as utensils, torn tires and old furniture where water could collect,” Patil said.
He said, “We have operated widespread spraying and fogging in the school premises and surrounding construction sites,” he said.
