How much will Thamma earn on its opening day?
Advance booking for Thamma is not as great as it usually should be for a Diwali release. As per the latest update on Sacknilk, the film has sold over 1,45,039 tickets in pre-sale across India for its opening day till Monday evening. This gives the total earning of the film 4.06 crores. With still half a day left, the film should speed up its advance bookings and aim for 6 crore+final figure.
Trade insiders say that Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s film is all set to take a good start during Diwali. Thamma is watching Opening of 18-20 crores. As per current trends, anything beyond this is a bonus. The low advance bookings for a Diwali release, and that too a franchise film from Maddock Films, is surprising.
Thamma is releasing on 4000 screens across India. With no other Hindi films releasing on Diwali, it’s a clear sign of it being a blockbuster day, but it looks like it’s going to be like last year’s Diwali release – Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 ( 35 crores) and Ajay Devgan’s Singham Returns ( 32 crores). A trade pundit said about the tweet The opening of Rs 30-32 crore for Thamma is surprising as it is not much promoted.
