Comedian and YouTuber Tanmay Bhat’s weight loss was the talk of the town on the internet recently. How did Tanmay Bhat lose 50+ kilos?
Abhi Rajput posted Tanmay Bhat’s before and after pictures on X, writing, “This is Tanmay Bhat’s viral transformation. So let’s understand how he lost 50+ kilos, and it’s not about diets. These 5 tips will change you from the inside.” In the thread, Abhi showed five tips he picked up from Tanmay’s podcast with Kumar Varun, including creating a routine, prioritising health, building mental resilience, controlling your mind, and more.
Taking Accountability and Making Health a Priority
In the first advice, Tanmay explained that health should be the top priority in people’s lives, and it has become that for him. The comedian explained that he dedicates two hours from his daily routine to hitting the gym and doing outdoor activities (badminton for him), and no one is allowed to disturb him during this time. “Make a time block even for 20 minutes. Train 3-4 times a week. Play outdoor sports,” the user concluded.
Lifestyle changes and changes in habits
In the second snippet, Tanmay spoke about how he tried to lose weight all his life and faced many ups and downs. Many would agree with this as we too face weight fluctuations due to many circumstances and lack of a proper schedule. However, Tanmay overcame this hurdle in his weight loss journey by making changes in his lifestyle.
The YouTuber said that he initially tried to follow the traditional routine of eating healthy, waking up early in the morning, going to the gym and lifting weights. However, when Tanmay realised that this was not something he liked, he focused on an activity he loved – badminton. When he formed the habit of playing badminton, he practised ‘habit stacking’, where he added another habit onto the activity he liked. So, he decided that he would go to the gym and lift weights before or after going to badminton class.
