Sunny Deol is a happy father-in-law. During his appearance on the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix India on Saturday, the actor talked about how his daughter-in-law Drishti Acharya has brought good luck to the entire family on the professional front. Sunny on years of struggle
“It has been many years, a lot of incidents have happened. We all have worked on different fronts. All kinds of things were happening. We were trying our best. It wasn’t that we weren’t trying. I was involved in many things, Bobby (Deol) and even papa (Dharmendra). However, suddenly, with my son’s marriage and the arrival of our daughter at our house, the atmosphere completely changed,” Sunny said emotionally on the show.
Her elder son Karan Deol, whom she launched as an actor in her 2019 directorial Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, married his childhood friend Drishti Acharya, who works in the travel industry. They got married in June, heralding more good news for the Deol family for the rest of the year.
Sunny on recent successes
“Since the 1960s, Papa has been here, and we too have been in the same spotlight. We have seen many things, arriving and departing in our own time. But with the current events happening as well as the past events and the love we are getting from people… people have always loved us. We get a lot of love, Papa gets a lot of love. And that’s why Bobby and I get so much love. But, somehow we were puzzled as to why things were not falling into place. But then, the daughter (daughter) came home. Then came Gadar. Before that Papa’s film was released. And then came Animal. All records were broken,” Sunny said.
2023 was the year of the Deols. First, Dharmendra was appreciated for his role as a romantic soul in Karan Johar’s blockbuster Rocky Aur Rani Ki Love Story. This was followed by Sunny’s Gadar 2, which revived the single-screen ecosystem. And the year ended with Bobby’s much-talked-about villainous performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s blockbuster Animal. However, Sunny’s younger son Rajveer Deol could not make a successful debut with Avnish Barjatya’s Dono, which failed at the box office.
