Adah Sharma’s The Kerala Story finally released digitally last month after several months of postponement. “It was banned in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, and now with social media I’m being tagged everywhere. It’s great that we can reach places through OTT that we couldn’t reach before .It feels great that OTT as a medium has created that space for us,” says the actor.
Sharma, who has done OTT projects including Pati Patni Aur Panga (2020), The Holiday (2022), and the latest Commando (2023), says the medium offers an opportunity to explore. “OTT inspires to do creative projects without worrying about numbers, that’s an added benefit of the medium,” says the 31-year-old.
“As an actor, we try not to think about these things and let the producers worry. Having said that, if you look at it that way, we as actors are like making a music video. , will make similar efforts in a theatrical film or an OTT. The release, numbers or medium will not make us think twice,” she adds.
The actor wants to do different roles in future. “I just want to try different characters and hopefully people will give me roles that I haven’t done before. This has always been my main aim, I don’t want to repeat. For example, I did a role in Bastar, both I did the same action genre films as Commando, but the action I did was different in both,” Sharma adds, adding, “Commando was a one-on-one fight and we had larger-than-life heroes, whereas Bastar was realistic, serious and violent. , because we were fighting a war. I’m glad that people are giving me different things to do and that should continue.”
Talking about her experience of working with her Sunflower 2 co-star, actor Sunil Grover and how happy she was to be a part of Season 2, she says, “It was amazing to work with such nice people. We had such experienced actors.” , Everyone had a different style of comedy. And, Sunil is a very funny person, he doesn’t take himself too seriously. He improvises and tries new things, it’s fun to work with him,” he added, adding, “Also, I had never seen a role like this written for anyone before, I Was lucky to play the role of Rosie. I’m glad people had expectations after season one, it made us work harder.”
