Today we bring for you the story of G G AS from Tamil Nadu, who not only passed the UPSC Civil Services examination twice, but also fulfilled his dream by becoming an IPS officer and later an IFS officer.
GG AS, daughter of an electrician, has secured 25th all India rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 in her third attempt. Raised in an ordinary family, her mother is a housewife and her brother is a social worker. G G AS is the first woman in her family to join the civil services.

He completed his schooling from Jaipal Garodiya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kolathur and obtained his B.Com degree from Stella Maris College in 2021. Initially, she aspired to become a writer, but a professor encouraged her to consider a career in the civil service. According to AyraNews24x7 Hindi report, the work of Chennai Corporation, especially the cleanliness and beautification initiatives under former commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi, led him to believe that the effective administrative model could be adopted across the country.
Determined to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, he enrolled for a foundation course and used coaching centers and study materials for prelims, mains and interviews.
In her first attempt, G G AS secured 107th rank at All India level, became the topper in Tamil Nadu and got selected for Indian Police Service (IPS) in 2022. However, his ultimate dream was different, so he decided to improve his ranks. Although she failed in her second attempt, she secured AIR 25 in her third attempt, and ultimately fulfilled her dream of becoming an IFS officer. He had chosen Tamil literature as his optional subject.
