Highlighting the need of the hour- fitness, Bollywood actor Soha Ali Khan recently posted a video on Instagram on Wednesday in which she was seen exercising in the gym.
“I think my trainer is confusing strength training with survival training,” Soha captioned her post.
Soha was seen doing strength training in the gym with others. She was seen lifting weights. He also did some cardio and mobility exercises.
Celebrities including Dia Mirza and Lauren Gottlieb praised Soha in the comments while the actor exercised.
Soha was seen doing all this
Soha Ali Khan was seen doing sideways roll as her first exercise.
Sideway rolling exercises require the person to roll from a starting position on the back or hands and knees, to the side and back, using the momentum of their body. This exercise plays a huge role in improving core strength and spinal mobility.
Next, Soha goes for a sliding bar push-up, in which her feet slide alternately towards and away from her.
This exercise requires a person to engage in a standard push-up motion while one or both feet are on a sliding bar. The person gets into a plank position with hands on the floor and feet on sliders or a towel and performs a push-up, sliding the feet toward the hands as the hips lift and then pushing them back out. It engages the core and stability more than regular push-ups.
Now, Soha does pull-ups on a bar with one leg raised on a separate machine.
This is a compound exercise because it combines both, doing a pull-up with the legs elevated, or a modified pull-up with the legs elevated on something.
What makes it different from the normal hanging pull-up is that where the normal pull-up requires you to pull your chin toward the bar and then lift your legs to a certain height, the modified pull-up uses leg support to make the pull-up easier, or to add assistance if you’re working on more repetitions. Soha included both in her daily routine.
Next, she performed a mobility exercise that included knee jump progressions.
To do the same, start by standing on one leg, bending the other leg or standing behind you, basically kneeling on the same knee. Soha placed her hands next to each other, parallel to her chest, for better balance and movement.
This knee jump exercise builds lower body strength and tones the quads, glutes, hip flexors and core.
For the next exercise, she was seen lifting weights and flipping them while walking. She then performs a move where she leans against a wall and activates her lower body with a squat form that combines strength and mobility.
Finally, Soha does a Halo or “Plate Around the World” where she swings the weight plates around her head with the help of both her shoulders.
To perform the exercise, she holds a weight plate with both hands and rotates it in a circle around her head while keeping her body and head stable. This exercise tones the shoulders.
