The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has issued an orange warning to Delhi due to heavy rains and thunderstorms throughout the day. As a result of continuous rainfall, all government and private schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) and Ghaziabad will remain closed on tomorrow, September 3, 2025.
Following the order of Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate, schools will remain closed for all students from East-Nursery to Grade 12 on September 3, 2025 (Wednesday) due to heavy rains. In the last 48 hours, continuous rains once again created a serious waterfall in Gurugram, causing a stagnation and significant disruption for the daily life for the traffic residents. On Tuesday, it was reported that Arvali Dam suffered serious damage near Kadarpur village in Sector 63, resulting in flooding several feet of water. However, no instructions have been announced by the government about the closure of schools for 3 September.
Punjab school also to be closed
Schools in Punjab will remain closed till September 3, 2025 due to severe monsoon rains and excessive floods. Initially, they were ready to reopen on 30 August, but the state administration extended the bandh to ensure student security. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains emphasized compliance of this instruction and warned private schools against ignoring the order.
What about Himachal and Uttarakhand schools?
In Himachal Pradesh, IMD estimated the improvement in weather conditions on 3 September, after a wider school closure on 2 September due to an orange alert. Future closures will be determined by local warnings. In Uttarakhand, the first red alert, such as Nainital and Chamoli, is expected to see better weather in areas on 3 September. However, the closure due to local waterlogging or flood effects may still be necessary.
