SBI Foundation has launched the third edition of its flagship Asha Scholarship Programme, through which 10,000 meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds across the country will receive financial assistance.
Under the programme, students from class 6 to post-graduate level can avail scholarships ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 15,000. ₹20,00,000 in a year.
A press release issued by the SBI Foundation said that the Asha Scholarship Programme offers special categories for school students, undergraduates, postgraduates, and students enrolled in IITs and IIMs.
Additionally, students belonging to SC/ST categories wishing to go abroad for higher education can avail the ‘Study Abroad’ scheme.
It is worth mentioning here that the application window for the scholarship opened on August 16 and closes on October 1, 2024.
For eligibility details for each category, candidates are required to visit the official website www.sbifashascholarship.org.
The Asha Scholarship Program was established in 2022, and since then, it has provided timely financial assistance The release said loans worth Rs 3.91 crore were provided to 3,198 students.
Challa Srinivasulu Shetty, Chairman of State Bank of India spoke about the Fellowship programme and said that it reflects SBI’s core value of service beyond banking and being an active contributor to the nation’s continued progress towards progress and prosperity for all.
SBI Chairman said, “We are proud to expand this transformational initiative to 10,000 students this year. Asha Scholars will play a vital role in realising our nation’s dream of a developed India by 2047.”
