SBI Latest FD Interest Rates: State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest government bank, has once again shocked its customers. Actually, SBI has once again reduced interest on fixed deposits (FD). The new rates have come into force from May 16, 2025. The bank has cut FD rates for all tenure by 20 basis points i.e. 0.20 per cent. SBI also cut interest rates on 15 April last month.
After the cut, SBI is paying interest between 3.30 per cent and 6.70 per cent annually for common citizens. This deduction will be applicable to FDs below Rs 3 crore. Earlier, the bank was offering interest from 3.50 percent to 6.90 percent for tenure from 7 days to 10 years.
SBI’s new interest rates for common people
SBI provides different FD interest rates on the basis of tenure of investment. Let us know what are the new interest rates of SBI after this change?
7 days to 45 days – 3.30 percent
46 days to 179 days – 5.30 percent
180 days to 210 days – 6.05 percent
211 days less than 1 year – 6.30 percent
Less than 1 year to 2 years – 6.50 percent
Less than 2 years to 3 years – 6.70 percent
Less than 3 years to 5 years – 6.55 percent
5 years to 10 years – 6.30 percent
Introduction in Amrit Vrishti Scheme also cut
SBI has also cut the interest rate of 0.20 per cent on its special FD scheme Amrit Vrishti by 0.20 per cent. According to the bank’s website, Amrit Vrishti is 444 days of the scheme, in which the interest rates for the general public have been reduced from 7.05 percent to 6.85 percent.
