Sanjay Kapoor has seen many ups and downs in his acting journey. The actor has often spoken about the professional challenges he faced, despite being the brother of Boney Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Recently, in an interview for Shivani Pau’s podcast, Sanjay revealed that when his career was going through a bad phase, Boney did not take him in No Entry. Sanjay feels Boney could have cast him in No Entry
The Murder Mubarak actor admitted that he felt his elder brother could have easily cast him in No Entry as they already had stars like Salman Khan and Anil on board. Sanjay said, “When I was going through difficult times, my brother (Boney) did not cast me. When they made No Entry they could have cast me in place of Fardeen Khan; But he did not do so. It already had Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan in the cast, so he could sell the picture anyway. Even if he had taken me, the picture would have been good. Things would have remained as they were and No Entry would have been a blockbuster.
He further said, “But they took Fardeen because at that time he was more marketable than me. I have not worked in my brother’s production in the last 20 years. When I was producing films and going through this bad phase, it was not that they did not love me. But at the end of the day it’s business.”
When Boney Kapoor clarified his comment on Anil Kapoor
Recently, Boney had revealed that his brother Anil is not talking to him because he has not cast him in No Entry 2. However, the producer later clarified that his statement was twisted and he said it in good humor. In an interview with Pinkvilla, he said, “I am shocked and surprised that when I said ‘Anil is angry with me’ the press did not make an issue of what was a very light-hearted and very successful attempt at humour. The fact is that the film I am proposing to make neither stars Salman (Khan) nor Anil because both of them are very busy stars. So, instead of thinking of making it with them I decided to make the sequel with the younger generation. To think that any of them could be angry with me because they are not a part of the sequel to No Entry is a completely absurd and ridiculous idea. The No Entry sequel may have needed them but they don’t need sequels. “This comment is obviously made in jest only.”
