Trust Rihanna to set new fashion trends, even if they are Desi. The Barbados singer was spotted at an event for her makeup and hair care brand Fenty in Los Angeles, where she wore outfits designed by not one but two Indian designers.

She wore a stunning ruby choker by Manish Malhotra and a three-stone necklace by Sabyasachi. She paired the look with a red leather bodycon dress, matching red leather jacket and her new blonde hair look. The Sabyasachi necklace is from his high jewellery collection, made of rubellite, tourmaline and brilliant cut diamonds. Sharing a picture of Rihanna, Manish wrote that she is wearing a ‘ruby choker, crafted from 18k gold and custom-cut rubies, set in diamonds, reflecting Indian craftsmanship and artistry.’
Fans of Rihanna and the Indian designer were amazed by the collaboration. Bhumi Pednekar loved the look and shared a raised hands emoji on Manish’s post. Influencer Aashna Shroff also showered love on the look. Alia Bhatt also liked Manish’s post. One person wrote, “This is amazing. Looks amazing.” Another person wrote, “The jewellery is great and looks gorgeous on Rihanna.”

Rihanna recently visited India and it looks like she took some fashion inspiration with her. She was the star performer at the first night of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar in March. She wore a green design by Italian brand The Attico for her performance. She also wore traditional jewellery from Birdhichand and Swadesh along with Desi shimmer. While leaving the Jamnagar airport, someone also gifted her a Desi dupatta which she flaunted in front of the paparazzi.
