Natural Rat Repellent: The arrival of rats in the house is no less than a headache, these small creatures may look innocent, but as soon as they step into the house, they create such terror that a person gets worried. Sometimes they gnaw the clothes kept in the cupboard, and sometimes they spoil the food kept in the kitchen. The biggest problem arises when rats start making noise at night – sleep is lost and anger reaches its peak. Often people bring expensive medicines or sticky pads from the market to get rid of them. Many times even a mousetrap does not work, because mice are so clever that they do not get trapped in the same trap again. Some chemical products kill them, but that smell makes it difficult to live in the house. In such a situation, the best way is to adopt some home remedies which will force the rats to run away without any side effects. Today we are going to tell you some easy and effective home remedies by which you can make “rat repellent” at home yourself. These remedies are completely natural and with them the rats will not only run away but will also be afraid of coming back.

1. Rats run away from the smell of onion

Rats do not like the smell of onion at all. For this, just cut the onion and keep it in those places from where rats often come and go. By keeping onions near the door, in the corners of the store room or kitchen, rats will automatically stay away from there. Just keep in mind that the onion should not rot, otherwise its smell can be irritating for humans too. Keep changing the onion every two days so that its smell remains intact.

2. The magic of peppermint
Peppermint oil is no less than a poison for rats. They immediately run away due to its strong fragrance. You put it in a cotton ball and keep it at the place where rats come from. If peppermint oil is not available, then buy a tablet of Pudin Hara from a paan shop, pierce it lightly with a needle and keep it in the corners. Its smell is so strong that rats will not dare to come near.

3. Miracle of alum
Alum is not only used to clean water, it is also helpful in warding off rats. Keep small pieces of alum in the corners of the house, behind the cupboard or kitchen. If you want, grind it into powder and sprinkle it in the corners. Rats cannot tolerate both its smell and taste, so they quickly run away from that place.

4. Mixture of red chilli and garlic
This recipe is a little strong but very effective. Make a spray by mixing red chili powder, garlic juice and a little water. Now spray it on the places where rats come from, this mixture stings the eyes and nose of rats, due to which they run away from there. Just keep in mind to keep this spray out of the reach of children.

5. Lemon peels
Rats also do not like the smell of lemon. Dry the lemon peels, grind them and make powder out of it. Now sprinkle it near the cupboard, kitchen and sink, it will not only drive away rats but will also maintain freshness in the house.

6. Clove and Camphor
Both these things are extremely disliked by rats. Mix camphor and cloves, tie them in small pieces of cloth and keep them in different corners of the house. This will not only keep the rats away but will also maintain a good fragrance in the house.

7. Use powder if you have to
If all the methods mentioned above do not work, then as a last resort, “Zinc Phosphide Powder” available in the market can be used. Mix it with a little flour, make small balls and place them on the path where rats come and go. However, do this method with caution because it is poisonous, if there are small children or pets in the house, then do not adopt this solution at all.
