Rashmika Mandanna says she is trying to take a few days off this Diwali to go home and spend time with family, while the plans are not finalized yet, with her Diwali release Thamma this year, she is revealing it. She says, “I really hope I can go home for Diwali, it’s been a long time and it’s on festivals that I miss my family the most. Honestly, given the kind of schedule we have, it’s not always easy to go home every time and I miss it. But whenever I go home, it’s a tradition I love, we all cook together and make kuvale putts.” Well, this is the traditional dish that we make in Coorg. At the end of the day, it’s the little things that make festivals so special. Just be with the people you love.”
While the engagement with Vijay Deverakonda and the video showing the ring are doing the rounds, the actor has maintained silence. However, whenever she decides to tie the knot, has she and her family been investing in gold jewellery, which is most popular in Indian weddings? “Over the years we have definitely collected a lot from here and there, not just thinking about the future or weddings, but also as souvenirs that have sentimental value,” she says.
When asked about a particular Dhanteras she recalled when she bought something expensive for herself or the family with her earnings, she said, “I remember one Dhanteras soon after the first or second film, when I was earning good money, that was the first time I actually bought something big with my earnings. I was very emotional because it was a very proud moment for me and my parents. So, it was a chain and pendant for my mother, She has always been my lucky charm. It wasn’t about how expensive it was or anything, but it was about that feeling of giving my mom something special with her money!”
And does she pay special attention to the kind of jewelery she invests in? “Not really, nothing special. I usually like small but beautiful pieces, something delicate but meaningful. I think jewelery should reflect your personality, so I wear what feels right.”
She says that the jewelery from her mother’s wardrobe is most precious to her. She says, “The earrings my mom gave me when I was in college are my favorite. I have so many beautiful memories with them, in fact they were my first pair of earrings so they’re special.”
Sharing her excitement for Thamma she says, “Thamma is releasing on Diwali, and the entire team is completely engrossed in the promotions right now. So all our Diwali preparations are for a thammaked Diwali. This year has been very special. Thank you so much for your love and support, my love! I am working hard every day, and your love is what keeps me going.”
