Rajiv Thakur feels that Sunil Grover ‘might be busy and will watch the show whenever he gets time.’ He played the character of Ibrahim Akhtar aka Chief in the show.
Comedian-actor Rajeev Thakur, who was recently seen in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, has spoken about the reaction of his The Great Indian Kapil Show co-stars after watching the Netflix series. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Rajeev said that Kapil Sharma, Archana Puran Singh, Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek watched his performance and praised him. Rajeev talks about Sunil
Rajeev said, “Except Sunil Grover paaji, everyone expressed their happiness and congratulated me. I think he must be busy and will watch the show whenever he gets time. I was with Kapil paaji when I got to know that the series has released and I told him about it and he wished me luck. He watched the series continuously and loved it. He messaged Anubhav Sinha and then called me and appreciated me.”
Rajeev, Krishna’s reaction on Archana
Rajeev said, “Archana ma’am’s reaction was very heartwarming. She has been very encouraging and always believed that I didn’t get what I wanted in comedy. She knew I was doing a webseries, but she didn’t know which one. When she saw the trailer, she wrote on Instagram story that I was unrecognizable. She messaged me after watching the whole series and appreciated my work and said she was happy that I got a project where I could get my due as an actor.” He added that Kiku Sharda praised him and congratulated him. Krushna Abhishek also watched a few episodes and called him to congratulate him.
About IC 814: Kandahar Hijacking Show
Based on true events, the six-episode series dramatizes the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC 814 by terrorists in 1999. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the show stars Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Dia Mirza, Pooja Gor and others. Rajeev played the role of Ibrahim Akhtar aka Chief in the show.
The Great Indian Kapil Show
It is hosted by Kapil Sharma. The show also features Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Archana Puran Singh, Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur. It will return with its second season on September 21. The celebrity chat series kicked off on the streamer’s platform with its first season in June this year.
