Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi and called him a prince. [prince]on Saturday. The Prime Minister told people at a public meeting in Nanded, Maharashtra, that he would leave Wayanad just as Gandhi had “fled” the Amethi constituency.

Rahul Gandhi lost the Congress stronghold Amethi seat to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, he retained his other seat, Wayanad. Gandhi has already filed his nomination from Wayanad seat for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Congress has not yet declared its candidate for Amethi seat.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said, “Prince and his gang are waiting for the voting to be held in Wayanad on 26th April.” As soon as voting ends in Wayanad…they [Congress] Will look for a safe seat after April 26. They will have to field them from somewhere else.
PM Modi also made an indirect attack on former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. He said that some leaders of the India Bloc left the Lok Sabha and went to the Rajya Sabha because they did not have the courage to contest elections.
“Whatever these people may claim, the truth is that Congress leaders have accepted defeat even before the elections were announced. That is why some of their leaders, who used to contest Lok Sabha seats and win, entered the fray this time. Are.” Through the Rajya Sabha route,” PM Modi said.
This year Sonia Gandhi was elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed. She had told that she will not contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
PM Modi was in Nanded to campaign for BJP candidates on Nanded and Hingoli seats in Maharashtra.
Speaking at the rally, PM Modi said that the constituent parties of the India Bloc are contesting against each other on 25 percent seats. “After (the election results) on June 4, they will fight with each other more,” he said. He also mentioned the statement of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan against Congress. CPI(M), to which Vijayan belongs, is an ally of the India Bloc.
