Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying his speeches are “nonsense and lies”.
CM Stalin said in an interview to India Today that PM Modi should visit Tamil Nadu often because it is in favor of his party DMK.
CM Stalin said, “The more Modi comes to Tamil Nadu, the more it will work in DMK’s favor and that is a plus point. He comes here and spreads lies.”

Stalin has expressed confidence that DMK will achieve a massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. He also claimed that the India Bloc will come to power after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“This time it will be 40 to 40 (seats). We have been fulfilling all the promises since coming to power and our new plans have made a big impact among women,” Satlin told India Today.

DMK will contest 21 Lok Sabha seats (22 seats when Namakkal is included in KMDK) on DMK symbol. DMK’s ally Congress will also contest from nine Lok Sabha seats (Tiruvallur (reserved), Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Sivagangai, Tirunelveli, Krishnagiri, Karur, Virudhunagar and Kanniyakumari) and Puducherry.

Voting in Tamil Nadu will take place on April 19. Voting will be held on all 39 seats in the first phase of the general elections. Across 39 parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu, 950 candidates are set to contest the Lok Sabha elections to be held on April 19. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
In the 2019 general election, the DMK secured a majority of 33.2% of the total votes and won 23 Lok Sabha seats. Its ruling ally Congress won 8 seats with 12.9% vote share, while CPI won two seats. CPI(M) and IUML won one seat each while the remaining two seats went to independents.
