Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about India’s military action against Pakistan and swipe in opposition. PM Modi also said against US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of a ceasefire mediation between India and Pakistan that he had told US vice -president JD Vance on the night of 9 May that Pakistan would get serious consequences for any attack on India. The PM also said that India destroyed the mid-air of about 1,000 Pakistani missiles and drones during Operation Sindoor. Here are the top five things that the Prime Minister said in his address:
Refutation for trump’s claims
In his address to the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said that no world leader asked India to stop Operation Sindoor. The Prime Minister said that while US vice -president JD Vance called him a few times, he could not take any calls due to being busy with the meetings.
“The Vice President told me that Pakistan is going to start a big attack. I told him if it is Pakistan’s intention, it will be very good. We will answer with a big attack. We will set the cannons on fire against his bullets.”
“No world leader asked India to stop his military campaign,” he said.
‘Bas karo, mat maro…’
Talking about India’s military action in Pakistan, PM Modi said that the Indian DGMO informed his Pakistani counterpart after informing its Pakistani counterpart. When Pakistan retaliated, “Indian armed forces taught it a lesson that will not forget it for years.”
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan was brought to its knees after Indian attacks in its separate corners. The Prime Minister cited the comments of some Pakistanis, which appeared on social media, to emphasize their shock on the Indian attack.
His DGMO called the Indian DGMO saying, “Just the cars, a lot of hit … stop the attack.”
They could not tolerate it even more, they said.
PM Modi also said that the Indian defense system destroyed 1,000 drones and missiles launched by the middle-host of Pakistan.
‘Improved Nehru Blunder’
The Prime Minister also said that the Central Government suddenly kept the Indus Water Treaty after the Pahgam terror attack, thus corrected the “big blunder” made by the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Amid opposition from Congress members, PM Modi said, “This has been an old habit of the Congress to make India’s interests hostage. The biggest example of this is the Indus Water Treaty. Nehru, who signed this treaty, did it and gave 80 percent of the rivers water and the rights to flow for Pakistan.”
He said that India gets its identity from the Indus River, but Nehru and Congress allowed the World Bank to decide about the sharing of Indus and Jhelum. “Nehru signed this treaty, which gave Pakistan 80 percent water and a big country like India. What kind of diplomacy is this?” Modi asked.
“India strongly expressed its stance that blood and water cannot flow together,” he said.
Digging in Congress on Tharoor
PM Narendra Modi took a jib in the Congress for not named Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tiwari in the list of participants in Operation Sindoor debate.
Although the Prime Minister did not name anyone, he was clearly referring to two Congress MPs Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tiwari, who did not speak during the debate on Operation Sindoor.
“Those who consider themselves as the big leaders of the Congress are feeling pain on why India’s stand was presented to the world. Perhaps some leaders have also been stopped from speaking in Parliament. There is a need to get rid of this mentality.”
Oppn finds excuses to oppose anything
Taking a jib in the opposition, PM Modi accused of finding new “excuses” to oppose the operation of the army including Operation Sindoor.
