Siam Vehicle Sales: The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released vehicle sales data for the fourth quarter (October-December) of 2023. According to this, in the fourth quarter of the last calendar year, Maharashtra remained at number-1 with the sale of 1,21,030 units of cars. At the same time, in terms of car sales, Uttar Pradesh stood second with 1,01,568 units. After this, Gujarat and Karnataka stood third and fourth with sales of 85,599 units and 71,549 units respectively.
SIAM said that in terms of total vehicle sales, Uttar Pradesh remained on top with 8,22,472 units, which included cars along with two-wheelers, three-wheelers and commercial vehicles. After this there were Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
These states are ahead in sales of two-wheelers
Uttar Pradesh is also on top in terms of sales of two-wheelers. In the fourth quarter (October-December) of last year, people of the state purchased a total of 6,73,962 units of two-wheelers. In the two-wheeler category, Maharashtra stood second with sales of 5,15,612 units, while Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu stood third and fourth in the list with 3,35,478 units and 3,24,918 units respectively.
Highest sales of three-wheelers took place in this state
SIAM said in its report that Uttar Pradesh remained at the forefront in the sale of three-wheelers. A total of 23,859 three-wheelers were sold here in the same period. This was followed by Maharashtra, Gujarat and Bihar where 20,495 units, 19,743 units and 14,955 units of three-wheelers were sold respectively.
How were the sales of commercial vehicles?
Like passenger vehicles, Maharashtra also tops the commercial vehicles category with 31,055 units. This is followed by states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Karnataka, where 23,083 units, 20,391 units and 16,966 units of vehicles have been sold respectively.
