People are crazy about Tata’s two electric cars, sales crossed 78,000 units

New Delhi. If we talk about electric vehicles, Tata Motors is the market leader in this segment. Currently, the company is selling four electric cars in the Indian market. The company’s electric vehicle lineup includes hatchbacks and compact sedans to compact SUVs. Due to this, Tata Motors gets an advantage over the competition. Some attractive figures have come out regarding the sales of Tata Motors’ electric vehicles.

Tata Punch EV and Nexon EV are seeing good demand in their segments. It has been only 5 months since the launch of Tata Punch EV and within this, this electric car has crossed the 10,000 unit sales mark, while Nexon EV has achieved more than 68,000 sales since its launch in 2020. Overall, 78,000 units of both the cars have been sold.

Talking about the features, the Nexon EV comes with features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a 9-speaker JBL system, automatic AC with rear vents, wireless phone charger and sunroof. It also has ventilated seats in the front. Talking about the Punch EV, it has features like dual-screen setup, air purifier, 6-speakers, cruise control, ambient lighting and sunroof.

In terms of safety, both the SUVs get six airbags, 360-degree camera, all-wheel disc brakes and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. It also includes blind spot view monitor, hill hold control and hill descent control. The Nexon EV also gets front parking sensors. Recently, both the Nexon EV and Punch EV have been crash tested by India NCAP in which both the SUVs have got a 5-star rating. Both the SUVs also get multi-drive modes like Eco, City and Sport mode. They also get 4 levels of multi-mode regenerative braking.

The Tata Punch EV is priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and competes with the Citroen EC3, while it is also a premium alternative to the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV. On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV is priced between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh and directly competes with the Mahindra XUV400 EV while serving as an affordable alternative to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
