Paramish Verma played the role of a Punjabi wrappers living in Canada in Ziohotstar’s new crime drama, Canada in the 90s.
Punjabi singer-actor Paramish Verma recently launched Hindi-language Oat with Gehotstar’s new show, Canada. But before he showed his acting chops, Paramish’s clean-looking look surprised the audience. The actor tells us that he surprised him and his close people as well.
Verma on shaving his bear
Ever since he has been a public person, Paramish is always a thick beard. Ask him if there was any hesitation about stopping all this for a role, and he responds, “initially, there, of course. There is a feeling of safety and familiarity about your look. But I saw the trust of the show’s makers. When I was asked to shave me, I told them that I love them. Just asked me to see the big world.
Paramish says that the manufacturers casting him and played a gambling. He said, “There were many actors without beard, who had auditioned, but I was chosen because they saw something in me. There is something like this in your talent. It was a very brave step for them,” they share.
When converted to nimma
But the actor was pleasant with the response to the look. Recalling an incident, he says, “In fact, a friend of mine did not recognize me in the trailer. I sent him the trailer when it came out, but he did not react. He thought that I had produced some. A few days later, he saw the trailer (in the Champions Trophy last month), and I revealed that he did not trail the trail.”
