Users of GLP-1 weight loss drugs converted into their feelings of smell, craving sweet scents such as vanilla and caramels.
Amid the increasing popularity of weight loss drugs, a new side effects known as “ozmpic odor” are increasing concerns. According to a report by Hello Magazine, the users of GLP-1s are reporting significant changes to their sense of smell, feeling more attracted to sweet scents such as vanilla and caramels.

“Studies confirm that our smell may be affected by GLP -1 agonist -which may increase and decrease sensitivity,” says a research body. Healthcare experts also note that the human body has different ways to satisfy the longing. “If someone is consuming less sugar, their brain may look for other methods to satisfy that longing,” says Dr. Priya Verma.

“It can explain the change towards sweet perfume. In many cases, it is a stand-in fragrance for dessert,” Verma says. Ozmpic and other GLP -1 weight loss injections press the appetite, causing users to eat less food. Khushboo experts also agree that popularity for perfumes with sweet notes has increased.
“The perfume has been a huge push that has a very good smell to eat,” the creative director of Khushboo Do Bois says Johnny Swarbrick, according to the outlet. “Customers are arriving for notes such as Pralin, Marshmallow, Pistachio and Chocolate. They want heat, comfort and perhaps a little enjoyment.”

However, there may be some physical reasons behind changes in fragrance preferences between users of GLP-1s. Dr. Mirium Rehabin noted that “rapid weight loss can cause dryer skin.” “Dry skin does not even hold on the smell. Perfumes with dense notes – such as caramel and vanilla – to last long and create a more envelope experience.”
