Online registration for entry-level classes under Economically Weaker Section (EWS), disadvantaged groups and children with special needs in private schools in Delhi will begin from February 2.
In a circular dated January 3, the Delhi Directorate of Education (DOE) outlined guidelines for the admission process for Nursery, Kindergarten (KG) and Class 1 under EWS/Disadvantaged Groups (DG) and Children with Special Needs (CWSN). of. Private unaided recognized schools of the city.
The DOE said that the online application process will start from February 3 and the last date for submission of applications is February 19. The first round of computerized draw for selected students will be announced on March 3.
As per the guidelines, the age limit for admission till March 31 for students under EWS and DG categories is between three to five years for Nursery, four and six years for KG and five to seven years for Class 1.
It added that for CWSN, the age limit is more flexible, allowing children of three to seven years for Nursery, four to eight years for KG and five to nine years for Class 1 to apply.
As per DoE guidelines, EWS category is applicable to children from low-income families 5 lakh annually, with income certificate from Revenue Department of Delhi.
“Below poverty line (BPL) or families holding Antyodaya Anna Yojana ration cards are also eligible for admission under these categories,” it said.
DG category includes SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), orphans, transgender children and children affected by HIV.
Additionally, children with disabilities must provide a disability certificate issued by the government. The DOE said that no income certificate is required for them.
