Continuing its pre-poll concessions, the Naveen Patnaik government on Wednesday hiked the salaries of junior teachers in primary and upper primary schools across the state. 13,800 to 20,000 per month.

A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said the hike will be with retrospective effect from January 1, 2023. The decision to increase salary will benefit 12,784 junior teachers in the state. This increase will put additional burden on the state treasury. 95 crores per year.

The government on Tuesday increased the remuneration and other benefits of sarpanches and PRI officials in the state.
