Coffee is a morning staple in which not only in people’s daily routines but also in their hearts. It is considered as the perfect pick-up drink that awakens you with a dull morning mood and helps you strengthen through the day. Even if coffee wakes you up, it is not all sunlight and rainbow to your health, especially for some weak groups. Women suffering from PCOS, the condition caused by hormonal imbalance, may experience poor symptoms caused by caffeine.

Nutritionist Dr. Reema, who often shares fitness and nutrition tips on Instagram, shared ideal coffee consumption guidelines for women with PCOS.

Here are the reasons she shared, as well as women with PCOS how can they enjoy coffee without deteriorating their symptoms:

  • Caffeine increases cortisol (a stress hormone).
  • It can disrupt hormones and spoil PCOS symptoms such as fatigue, acne and crawings.
  • It is particularly harmful on an empty stomach, increases stress, and disturbs the intestine.

  1. Eat caffeine after protein -rich breakfast. Avoid consuming on an empty stomach.
  2. Limit the caffeine to 1 cup a day; Additional caffeine can disrupt hormones and spoil PCOS symptoms, sleep and crawings.
  3. Avoid all types of sugar, cream, as they spike insulin and combat any health benefits. Use ground coffee by high quality, freshly.
  4. Stop caffeine after 3 o’clock; Late caffeine affects sleep, which worsens PCOS symptoms such as straight fatigue and weight gain.

While no one is asking you to eliminate coffee completely, it is important to be conscious of some major factors, in which time, part size, and you added it.
