Former registrar of Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council Sunita Shiju was dismissed on Friday after she was found guilty in an inquiry into granting recognition to ineligible nursing colleges.
Sunita Shiju was posted as Registrar from 22 September 2021 to 24 August 2022. During this period, irregularities were found in granting recognition to ineligible nursing colleges.
For the first time, the state government has taken strict action against an officer involved in the nursing college scam.
A petition was filed by the Law Students Association demanding action against him. An inquiry was initiated against him on the direction of the court, in which he was found guilty of giving recognition to ineligible colleges and failing to investigate.
Duplicate Faculty and others.
Shiju’s parent department Dean Medical College Bhopal had issued the charge sheet on May 29, 2023 and additional charge sheet on August 4, 2023.
Sunita Shiju was currently posted as a staff nurse at Datia Medical College.
However, petitioner Vishal Baghel said, “The chargesheet has been made very weak and there is a possibility that he might have got his job back through the court. The investigating team has left out a lot of points against him.”
