As per the guidelines of the Directorate of Education (DOE), some schools in Delhi have not yet started the nursery admission process and have not uploaded the point criteria. With schools in Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad having already started the admission process, now it’s time for Delhi schools to implement the upload point criteria, marking the formal start of the admission season.
Some schools like Salwan Public School and Sachdeva Public School have already uploaded the point criteria on their websites. It is expected that by the evening of November 28, all schools in the national capital will provide the point criteria for entry level admission in the next academic session. As per the detailed admission schedule for the 2026-27 academic session, the registration forms will be available on the specific websites of the schools from December 4.
Parents who want pre-school or nursery admission for their children in unaided private schools should take note of the admission schedule of DOE mentioned below:
1. Schools will upload the admission criteria and their marks in the department’s module – 28th November
2. Start of admission process and availability of forms – 4th December
3. Last date for submission of application form in schools: 27 December
4. Schools will upload the details of children who applied for admission under Open Seats – January 9, 2026
5. Uploading of marks (as per marks system) awarded to each child who applied for admission under open seats – January 16, 2026
6. Display of the first list of selected children – January 23, 2026
7. Resolution of queries of parents regarding the first list regarding allotment of marks to their children – January 24, 2026.
8. Display of second admission list of selected children along with waiting list (with marks allotted under mark system) – 9th February, 2026
9. Resolution of queries of parents on allotment of marks to their children in the second list – February 10 to February 16, 2026.
10. Next list of admission – March 5, 2026
11. Closing date of admission process – March 19, 2026.
It is mandatory for schools to upload the admission list with the marks allotted under the points system.
“Age relaxation of up to one month for admission in the minimum and upper age limits for these classes may be granted at the level of the Head of the School. Parents may approach the Head/Principal of the school for age relaxation through a Manua application. A child must have attained the prescribed minimum age for admission in the academic session 2026-27 by March 31, 2026,” the November 22 notification said.
Parents need to pay a registration fee to apply to schools of their choice 25. The minimum age for nursery admission is above three years as on March 31, 2026. It is four years and above for lower kindergarten, above five years for upper kindergarten and above six years for Class I.
“Every school shall display the above admission schedule on its notice board and website…only Rs 25 (non-refundable) may be charged from parents as admission registration fee,” the notification reads.
