Yes, this has definitely increased the price of the bike, but it does a great job of keeping you safe on the road. The safety features of the bike may vary according to the model, price and variant. If we talk about India, in the last few years, two-wheelers have been improved a lot in terms of safety. Now companies have to compulsorily provide some standard safety features even in the cheapest bikes and scooters. So let’s know which safety features are available in the bike.
Combined Braking System(CBS)
Combined braking systems are available even in the lowest priced bikes. This is an essential safety feature in bikes that prevents the tyres from skidding. In such bikes, when one brake is pressed, both the brakes work together. This puts equal pressure on both the wheels to stop the bike and the tyres do not skid.
Anti Lock Braking (ABS)
ABS i.e. Anti Lock Braking System is now available in affordable 110cc and 125cc bikes as well. Single channel and dual channel ABS are provided in the bike. It works better than CBS in stopping the bike without skidding. For this, a separate control system is installed in the bike.
Traction Control System
Although traction control system is available in expensive bikes, but in the Indian market some companies like Yamaha are also offering it in their budget motorcycles. Often there is a high chance of the bike slipping on wet roads or in mud, that is why this feature is being included in bikes. This feature helps in preventing the bike from slipping, as well as offers better handling and grip.
