The project to double the 159 km long single line of Devbhoomi Dwarka (Okha) Canalus rail section has been approved. Its total cost will be Rs 1,457 crore. This line passes through Jamnagar and Devbhoomi Dwarka districts and is the most important rail route to Dwarka, the city of Lord Krishna. Spiritual importance of Dwarka and one of the Char Dham of Gargadwar is included in Saptapuri.

To pass one train, another has to stop at a station.

This line will also strengthen the area economically. Because it also connects Okha Port and Salaya Port directly. Through which edible salt, cement, fertilizers are transported. After doubling of the track, additional 11 million tonnes of additional goods can be transported every year.
Also beneficial for the environment
Double rail line will be better for the environment. Every year 2.8 crore liters of diesel will be saved. There will be a reduction of 14 crore kilograms in carbon emissions, which will be equivalent to planting about 56 lakh trees every year. Also, there will be a saving of Rs 311 crore annually in logistics cost. The target is to complete the work in 3 to 4 years after it starts.
