New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) recorded 10% annual growth in the domestic tractor cell in May 2025. During this time the company sold 38,914 units, while in May 2024 it was 35,237 units. The total tractor sales, including exports, reached 40,643 units, which is 10% more than 37,109 units in the same time last year, however, export quantity declined by 8% and it was 1,729 units.
Nakra also highlighted government schemes to increase better reservoir level, record food production and farmers’ productivity, which is expected to maintain the demand of tractors in the coming months. For the period of the financial year 2025-26 (April-May), Mahindra’s domestic tractor sales reached 77,430 units, which is 9% more than 71,042 units sold in the same period of last financial year 2024-25. Total sales, including exports, reached 80,697 units, which is 9% higher than 74,148 units in the previous year. Export sales for the year to date period rose by 5% to 3,267 units, as compared to 3,106 units in the financial year 2024-25.
Mahindra’s strong performance in the tractor segment coincides with its leadership status in India’s Farm Equipment Market, where it remains the world’s largest tractor manufacturer according to the quantity. Increased minimum support price (MSP) for expected strong monsoon and kharif crops is expected to further promote demand in rural and semi-urban areas. Mahindra’s tractor sales growth matches its recent success in its passenger vehicle segment, where it has emerged as India’s second largest domestic player due to its SUV portfolio.
