National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has extended the last date of application for NIFT 2026 entrance exam. Candidates can now apply without late fee till 13 January 2026 (Tuesday). The last date for submission of forms with late fees has been extended to January 16, 2026, while the correction window will remain open till January 19, 2026.
NIFT Said extension has been given to benefit candidates from different regions and to ensure that maximum number of eligible students can complete the application process, especially after the recent addition of new exam cities.

Who can apply for NIFT 2026?
Candidates who have completed 12th class or appearing for 12th class board exam in 2026 are eligible to apply.
The maximum age limit for admission to undergraduate programs at NIFT is 24 years, calculated as on 1 August of the year of admission. The age rule applies to most undergraduate courses, unless specific exemptions are noted.
How many seats are available in NIFT campuses?
As per the current seat matrix, NIFT Delhi offers the highest admission with 376 seats. It is followed by NIFT Bengaluru with 304 seats, NIFT Kannur with 287 seats, NIFT Hyderabad with 266 seats and NIFT Patna with 244 seats in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
What programs are offered through NIFT 2026?
Candidates who qualify the entrance examination will be eligible for admission to programs such as Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Fashion Technology, Master of Design, Master of Fashion Management and Master of Fashion Technology.
What is NIFT 2026 exam pattern?
Last year, NTA conducted the NIFT 2025 entrance exam on February 9. The exam was conducted in two stages – General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT) – in 82 exam cities.
General Aptitude Test (GAT) consists of 100 questions from the following sections:
• Communication Ability and English Comprehension – 40 questions
• Quantitative Aptitude – 20 questions
• Analytical and logical ability – 15 questions
• Current Affairs and General Knowledge – 25 questions
The Creative Ability Test (CAT) assesses the design aptitude of the candidate, including creativity, observation skills, use of color and illustration ability. Answers should be prepared in this section and evaluated on the basis of presentation and originality.
