About studies
According to a study published in clinical nutrition on September 30, 2024, which included more than 50,000 UK adults, researchers adjusted to factors such as age, gender, lifestyle and existing health conditions, and still found a consistent link between high walnut consumption and low risk of dementia. The protective effects were particularly noticeable with unsalted nuts, which outlines the possible role of healthy fat, antioxidants and fibers in slowing cognitive decline.
