New Delhi. Elon Musk is continuously working on cleaning up the social media platform X. In another effort in this series, Elon Musk has announced on Sunday that users can now limit replies to verified users only to avoid spam and bots. The platform started cracking down on spam accounts last month. As a result many users lost followers.
However, not all X users seemed to be following his advice. A follower has commented, ‘I can’t do this. I have a lot of friends, I enjoy talking to them, they don’t have blue ticks.

It is noteworthy that in the last few months there was a flood of spam and porn bots on X. In view of this, major action has been taken against fake accounts. The CEOs of Tesla and SpaceX said that despite the massive bot purge, the X platform reached another high in usage this month.
The X owner has already threatened to freeze ad revenue share to content creators as the platform investigates the use of bots in replies and direct messages (DMs).

This initiative against deepfakes!
Apart from this, Musk has recently said that a new update of ‘Improved Image Matching’ is being launched on X. It will monitor deepfakes as well as shallowfakes on social media platforms. “We have just released an update that will identify any fake images,” X said in a post.
Musk said that this step will help in defeating deepfakes (and shallowfakes). Shallowfakes are photos, videos, and voice clips created without the aid of artificial intelligence (AI), and using widely available editing and software tools.
