That ’90s Show Is Officially Ended! After two successful seasons, Netflix has put the spin-off on That ’70s Show on hold. Franchise star Kurtwood Smith delivered the “tough news” on Instagram on Thursday.
Why did Netflix cancel that 90s show?
The 81-year-old, who played Red Forman on both the OG sitcom and its follow-up show, released a heartfelt statement announcing that That ’90s Show will not be returning for a third season. “I know you’ve been asking me when Season 3 is coming out, but I have hard news…Netflix will not be renewing,” Smith shared with his 116K followers.
The Hollywood legend expressed his gratitude to the audience and his longtime fans, saying, “I just want to take a minute to say thank you to all the fans who supported everywhere and watched the show.” “When I’m travelling, you come up to me in different parts of the world and contact me through social media and it’s so amazing,” he said.
“I loved every minute of bringing Grandpa Red to life for all of you,” Smith continued. “I’ve said it before, but it’s worth mentioning again… there was a lot of heart behind this show.” And it was most wonderful. Artists, writers, directors, producers and crew with whom an actor can hope to work.’
