Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member (MP), Sanjay Singh on Friday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Rajya Sabha, convicted the saffron party for an increase of 94 percent in communal violence cases across the country since 2019.
Singh said that the rise in communal incidents was due to the fire and disgusting speeches by the ruling party leaders.
Singh said in the upper house of Parliament, “If we compare cases of communal violence from 2019 to 2024, it shows an increase of 94 percent. And why communal violence is taking place? This is because you (BJP leaders) give an instigated speeches. Your people are involved in disgusting dialogues,” Singh said in the higher Sadan of Parliament.
The AAP leader was referring to the recent violence in Nagpur at the 18th century grave of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and increasing temple disputes in the country.
“When the whole world is moving towards development, you are spreading hatred in the country,” Singh participated in a debate on the work of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He claimed that people in power are saying that the government protected by the government will harm the sites of the era.
What happened in Nagpur?
Violence erupted in Central Nagpur on Monday, in which a stone fell into the police amidst the rumors that the sacred text of a community was burnt during the movement by a right -wing body, which demands the removal of the grave of the 17th -century Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the Chhatrapati Sambhjinagar district.
Nagpur police on Thursday arrested nine more persons in connection with the clashes of March 17, causing more than 100 arrests.

Jib in BJP’s ‘double-engine’ government
Singh also enlightened the BJP on his “double-engine” story. He said that although crime is a state subject, if it is BJP ruled, the party is doubled and accountable to maintain law and order.
Citing the National Crime Record Bureau data, the AAP MP claimed that criminal activities have increased in states in recent years that have “double-engine governments”.
Singh said that BJP -ruled Haryana recorded more crime incidents than Punjab, even though its AAP -ruled border is more population than the state.

Singh said, “In Uttar Pradesh, 6,57,925 cases were reported in 2020, 6,80,082 in 2021 and 7,53,675 cases in 2022,” Singh said similar trends were seen in the center area of Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi.
