Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has accused the Hemant Soren-led government of endangering his security by withdrawing all the security vehicles given to him.
Former chief minister Champai Soren, who was earlier with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), termed the move a “political conspiracy” to intimidate him.
He said in an interview, “The Jharkhand government, as part of a political conspiracy, withdrew all the security vehicles given to me, putting my life at risk. I am not afraid of this move. The people of Jharkhand will provide me security.” PTI,
Champai Soren stressed that he has always remained true to his values and believes that the voters will give a decisive reply against the JMM-led alliance in the upcoming assembly elections.
Responding to Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM leader Hemant Soren’s allegation that the BJP was “buying” political leaders, Champai said, “Nobody can dare buy me. I have made the circumstances behind my leaving the JMM very clear.” His decision to join the BJP stemmed from feelings of “humiliation” and “disrespect” that he claimed he experienced within the JMM.
Hemant Soren accused BJP of adopting divisive strategy
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has launched a scathing criticism of the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), likening them to “rats” who were undermining communal harmony in Jharkhand for electoral gains.
Speaking at a rally in Bhognadih, Hemant Soren alleged that the BJP was deliberately promoting differences between the Hindu and Muslim communities, particularly highlighting the involvement of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in it.
Soren made the announcement during the rally, which he addressed virtually from Ranchi. “The RSS is invading the state like rats and destroying it. When you see them entering your villages with ‘handia’ and ‘daaru’ (locally made liquor), chase away such forces… They want to create communal unrest and tension ahead of elections for political gains,” he said.
Hemant Soren warned against increasing provocations like throwing meat in temples and mosques, calling the BJP a party that primarily serves traders and industrialists. His comments appear to be targeted at the recent defection of Champai Soren, which he sees as part of the BJP’s strategy to manipulate local politics for its agenda.
