The prestigious Parsi Cafe, Jimmy Boy, near Horniman Circle in the fort, has shut down its operation due to the dilapidated position of Vikas Bhavan, where it was kept a few months before the completion of 100 years of its operation in September.

Jimmy Boy – A heritage landmark suddenly stopped
The beloved Parsi Cafe of Mumbai, Jimmy Boy, settled in the historic fort district, has unexpectedly shut down its fort outlet a few weeks ago due to its centers in September. The nutritious restaurant was famous for its keema pav, broon maska, mava cake and indifferent Iranian Chai, first opened as Cafe India before resumption in 1999.
“Cuisines have been unchanged since the beginning. Each Parsi family has its own closely guarded cuisine for its own version of the dish, and we are true for us! All-time favorite includes Patra Ni Macchi, followed by sauce Nimacchi, Saliliboti, Kima Pav, Chicken Berry Pula,” reads.
Unprotected construction force sudden withdrawal
On 20 June, a junior engineer warned a Junior Engineer after detecting the major cracks in the construction of the Story Development Complex in the Fort, a Junior Engineer alerted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Disaster Management Cell.
The next morning, a formal notice under Section 354 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act made immediate withdrawal mandatory. Along with BMC, Fire Brigade and local police, the premises were closed after inspections, which considered the structure to be insecure for occupancy.
Negligent audit warns come back to harass the gimmy boy
The closure of the Jimmy Boy Cafe at Horniman Circle in Fort has been followed by a structural audit made by Mahimtura Consultants, which flagged off the walls, beams and slabs of the development about a year ago.
Despite the immediate remedial recommendations, no corrective work was reportedly done – “highly dilapidated” leading to the development building to be labeled. Security was unchanging with security, the closure of the Jimmy Boy Cafe became indispensable.

Operations director Shahzad Irani allegedly expressed emotional farewell but confirmed that the Jimmy boy was not disappearing.
The iconic Parsi restaurant continues the tech -out services from its Mahim branch, and supplies cooked goods, puffs and sandwiches to Cafe Olive Green in Navy Nagar. Online delivery coverage has also been expanded, reflecting the company’s determination to be present in Mumbai’s food scene.
