The Directorate of School Education on Tuesday said that all schools in Puducherry will remain closed on Wednesday, July 17, on the occasion of Muharram, ANI reported.
The notification said, “The schedule for conducting the Common Periodic Test-I has been communicated to all the government schools in Puducherry. The Periodic Test scheduled on 17.07.2024 (Wednesday) has been postponed to 24.07.2024 (Wednesday). The remaining tests will be conducted as per the schedule communicated earlier.”
During this, Traffic Police in Delhi and Mumbai A traffic advisory has been issued in view of the Tazia processions taken out across the city on the occasion of Muharram.
There is a possibility of traffic jams on the procession route and adjacent roads. Drivers have been advised to avoid these routes.
DCP Shahdara Surendra Chaudhary said that he held meetings of the ‘peace’ committee. Police force was deployed at police station level, sub-division level for the Muharram procession.
On Muharram processions, Choudhary said, “We spoke to the processionists about the law and told them what they can and cannot do. Adequate police force has been deployed and other arrangements have been made.”
Lucknow Joint Police Commissioner Kirit Rathore He said that arrangements have been made We have deployed adequate number of security forces for the Muharram procession.
Rathore told ANI, “The month of Muharram is going on and processions are being taken out in different areas. Careful planning is being done for this. 12 companies of PAC and RAF have been deployed. We are also monitoring the situation through drones and our media cell is also monitoring social media to ensure that no rumours are spread. We have spoken to the maulanas and peace committee meetings have also been held. Necessary cooperation is being taken from them.”
On Monday, Muharram processions were taken out at many places in the country.
