The Meteorological Department of India has issued a warning of heavy rains for many southern and western states – including Karnataka and Kerala – welcomed the South -West monsoon. There is also a red alert for Goa, forecasting a huge decline till Sunday. In the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall surprises some parts of the coastal state.

In his forecast, Vedarman predicted heavy rainfall for three days from 25 to 27 May. The weather is expected to be cloudy from Saturday, which is expected to continue with shower and thunder till Monday.

South -Western monsoon set in Kerala

The South -West monsoon has officially arrived in Kerala today, which has started eight days before the normal date of June 1. This is the beginning of the monsoon in Kerala since 2009, when it began on May 23.

According to historical data since 1975, the first recorded of the south -west monsoon over Kerala began on 19 May 1990, which was 13 days before the normal date.

The advance arrival of monsoon this year indicates the onset of the rainy season in Kerala, which provides very important relief and marked the beginning of widespread monsoon progress on the Indian subcontinent. Meteorologists will closely monitor their movement as it spreads to other parts of the country in the coming weeks. IMD has declared a red warning in Kerala for the following districts: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Idukki and Malappuram.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru is likely to receive scattered rainfall over the next five days, said IMD said.

Heavy rain warning for Goa

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert, indicating very heavy rainfall until Sunday. Fishermen are advised not to enter the sea, as with a speed of 40–50 km per hour, at a speed of 60 kmph, is more expected along the Goa and Konkan coast.

Mumbai weather update
