Earlier in the day, state Chief Minister N. Biren Singh resigned Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhawan in Imphal.
In his letter to the Governor, Singh said, “It has been an honor to serve the people of Manipur till now. I am very grateful to the Central Government for the action, intervention, developmental work and the implementation of various projects to protect the interests of each Manipuri. ,
He resigned a few hours after returning from Delhi. On Saturday, Singh called a meeting with the ruling coalition MLAs led by the BJP at the CM Secretariat in connection with the upcoming assembly session from 10 February.
