He suggests, “A popular way to consume makhanas is by adding a pinch of spices to them to add a tadka of taste and health to the snack bowl. This flavourful variety adds an exciting mix of spices to meals, which can be either sprinkled lightly on salads to add extra crunch or cooked in a stir-fry for a delicious flavour.”

For those who want to eat something sweet that won’t be harmful to their health, Satyajit Hange suggests, “Try makhana sweetened with cane jaggery or makhana caramelised with natural sweeteners. They can satisfy their sweet tooth by including this lovely dish in their dessert or snack without any guilt.”
