Madhuri Dixit has hinted at her new series, Mrs. Deshpande, which is a remake of La Monte, by teasing fans with a cryptic Instagram post.
Madhuri Dixit is all set to make a grand comeback on the small screen with the upcoming JioHotstar series Mrs. Deshpande. The actor surprised fans by releasing a short but intriguing teaser, which hints at a twist that “nobody saw coming.”

On Wednesday, Madhuthri shared a 20-second teaser on her social media. In the clip, Madhuri is seen taking off her jewelery and make-up, only for the scene to be abruptly cut off as she is seen in a menacing shot, in prison uniform, with a knowing smile. The teaser shows his bold new avatar as an intimidating serial killer, one of his darkest roles to date.
Earlier in the day, Madhuri sparked curiosity with a cryptic Instagram post that included the lyrics of her iconic songs. Phrases like “Ek do three four five chhe saath eight” and “Bholi si surat, aankhon mein masti” appeared in the slides with the title “coming soon”, leading fans to speculate about a big announcement.
Speaking at the IIFA Awards earlier this year, Madhuri Deshpande said, “There is no conscious effort as such, but the role came to me, and I thought it is something I would love to do because it explores a different part of me, and I am looking forward to it.”

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, Mrs. Deshpande is the official remake of the French thriller La Monte. La Monte tells the story of a serial killer who agrees to help capture a copycat killer on the condition that she work exclusively with his estranged son, forcing the two into an emotionally strained partnership. The makers have not yet announced the release date of Mrs. Deshpande.
